Simon Coveney has hit back at those who say he’s boring - with remarks which may be a dig at his rival Leo Varadkar.

On TV last night Coveney warned that voting for candidates with ‘the X factor’ didn’t always mean good outcomes.

There are just over 24 hours before the nominations for Fine Gael leadership close.
