A jury is due to be sworn in today to hear the trial of Anglo Irish Bank’s former chairman Sean Fitzpatrick.
Sean Fitzpatrick is facing 21 charges of making a misleading, false or deceptive statement to auditors.
He is also facing a further six charges of furnishing false information between 2002 and 2007. He denies all 27.
The 66-year-old is to stand trial before Judge John Aylmer at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court but it won’t begin hearing evidence until next week.
Today has been set aside for jury selection. An enlarged jury of 15 is required to hear what’s expected to be a 12 week trial.
