The Minister for Justice Frances Fitzgerald has met with the Garda Commissioner Noirín O’Sullivan this afternoon, amid growing concern over gangland violence after the murder of Eddie Hutch Senior last night.
Eddie Hutch - a taxi driver and father in his 50's - was killed when four masked gunmen burst into his house on Poplar Row in the north inner city, shooting him a number of times - killing him immediately.

Mr Hutch is the latest victim in an ongoing gangland feud and his murder is believed to be revenge for Friday's shooting at the Regency hotel in Drumcondra, which claimed the life of David Byrne.

The streets around the murder scene are still closed off and Mr Hutch's body has now been removed from the scene.
These locals are angry that such a crime has happened near their homes:
Gardaí are appealing for information about a silver BMW 3 series car that they believe it may have been used by the killers.
