The Justice minister says its time to address the fact that the majority of work in the home continues to fall to women.
Speaking at a major conference on Gender Equality in Dublin Frances Fitzgerald says unpaid caring duties still fall disproportionately to women.
She says its time to examine the provision in the constitution which protects a woman's place in the home.
She says Article 40 needs to be reconsidered
