Karen Buckley has been laid to rest in county Cork this evening.
Hundreds of mourners attended the funeral of the nurse who was murdered in Glasgow two weeks ago.
The church in Analeentha was packed to capacity this afternoon, where hundreds more spilled out into the churchyard, to say their final farewell to 24 year old Karen Buckley.
Chief celebrant Fr Joe O’Keefe was joined by 20 priests, and he spoke of the community’s deep sadness and shock at the nurse’s horrific death.
A guard of honour was formed by Karen’s former classmates in nursing at the University of Limerick, each carrying a single rose.
Karen’s survived by her parents John and Marian, and brothers, Brendan, Kieran and Damien.
The Taoiseach's Aide de Camp Kieran Carey also attended the funeral mass along with three officers from Police Scotland.
