Kurdish forces in northern Iraq are claiming their biggest victory yet over Islamic State.
Peshmerga soldiers have fought their way to Mount Sinjar and freed thousands of people trapped there by the Islamist group since August.
The two-day offensive involved 8-thousand fighters and some of the heaviest air strikes since a US-led coalition started its air campaign four months ago.
