The LÉ Samuel Beckett which has its base in Cork have rescued 429 migrants off the North West of Tripoli today.
Altogether fourteen people were found dead in two seperate rescue missions.
The Irish crew were alerted to the scene following a request from the Italian Maritime Rescue Centre.
Their rubber vessels were sinking and the migrants were taken on board and given food and medical treatment.
The rescue took just under 4 hours to complete.
