The ChildrenÂ’s Minister has published landmark legislation making it mandatory for members of named professions to report child abuse cases.

The Children First Bill 2014 is aimed at giving clarity to teachers, clergy members, gardaí and medical staff to ensure they bring all suspicions of abuse or neglect forward.

Frances Fitzgerald is warning that some organisations could face funding cuts if they donÂ’t fully comply.
