More than a thousand lawyers have written to the British Prime Minister David Cameron, saying the referendum result is 'advisory' and not legally binding.

The signatories also warned Mr Cameron to proceed slowly with any decisions on the country's future.

They say primary legislation is needed before Article 50 is triggered, and the process of leaving the EU begins.
