Leaving Cert students are being warned about a fake Facebook event advertising a festival in Marlay Park.

Fine Gael Senator Neale Richmond says the event is a scam and students shouldn't buy tickets or turn up on August 17th.

The event shows a fake Leaving Cert results party and has 2,700 people indicating they'll attend.

Senator Richmond says it has the appearance of a legitimate festival, but people shouldn't be fooled into parting with their money.
