A leading international economist is backing calls for higher tax rates for the more wealthy in Ireland.
The independent think tank TASC wants people who earn over one hundred thousand euro to be taxed more.
The organisation also says the Government is not doing enough to address the issue of economic inequality.
Thomas Piketty says the issue has not been as extreme in Europe as the United States.
