Liberty Insurance is cutting 270 jobs in Ireland.
The company is cutting jobs in Cavan, Dublin and is transferring its Enniskillen contact centre to a 3rd party operator.
It follows the decision to exit the car insurance market in the UK.
The voluntary redundancies will be rolled out over the next 18 months.
Staff were told at meetings in Cavan, Dublin and Enniskillen today. It is anticipated the redundancies will take effect over the next 18 months.
The company says the final numbers are uncertain but it is expected that there could be approximately 135 redundancies in Dublin, 115 in Cavan and 20 in Enniskillen.
