Limited-edition stamps have been released to mark 25 years of Westlife.

Every two years, An Post asks the public for suggestions on what should feature on special edition stamps.

The four current members of the boyband have said and it's an honour and privilege to be featured on Irish stamps to commemorate their quarter century.

The collection includes a booklet of four National "N" rate stamps, worth €1.40 each, with an individual photo of each member, along with their signature.

An Post has said only 80,000 of the booklets will be available.

A larger €3 stamp has also been released, with a group photo of the band's current members, Kian Egan, Mark Feehily, Nicky Byrne and Shane Filan.

Brian McFadden, who left the boyband in 2004, isn't featured in any of the stamps.

Shane Filan's brother, Finbarr, is the postmaster at Castle Street post office in Sligo Town.

He said his family had no idea that Shane and Westlife would be getting their own stamps.

"It's really exciting. Shane kept this a secret from the rest of the family. I knew about it because of my association with An Post.

"When we showed them the photos last night of the stamps, they all just come back and said, 'Oh my God, that's so cool!'

"And, it really is. Your brother's face and his friends' faces on stamps, it's great".

Finbarr Filan, thinks featuring on a National stamp is one of the band's biggest achievements.

"Because Westlife has been going for 25 years, We've all grown up with them.

"There's been tremendous some achievements, such as when your brother meets the Pope, when he meets President Obama and he meets the Queen.

"These are all just things that you go, that's really cool, but to actually be recognised in your own country and put on a National stamp, I think that's up there with some of their best achievements ever".
