The largest commemoration in the history of the State will be held this weekend, to mark the Centenary of the 1916 rising.

Gardai say any threat of terrorism is unlikely despite plans for up to a million people to attend events over Easter weekend.

An Air Corps flyover will be one of the highlights of the Easter Sunday Parade this weekend, which will include more than 3 thousand 700 defence force members.

Commandant Pat O’Connor says it will include the army, air corps, navy, reserves, veterans and overseas troops.
