HandelÂ’s Messiah is being performed today in Fishamble Street in central Dublin, to mark 273 years since the first time the piece was sung.
100 singers from Our Lady’s Choral Society – accompanied by an orchestra – will celebrate the first ever performance of the masterpiece on the same site in 1742.
Hundreds of people turned out to watch the outdoor performance.
