16 year olds in Ireland are smoking up to 100 euro a day of cannabis, according to research.
A study at Trinity College in Dublin also finds that many teenagers are consuming an average of up to 400 euro a week.
It comes as the government considers the possible decrimminalisation of cannabis. The issue is being discussed today at a Community Awareness of Drugs conference in Dublin.

The two US states of Colorado and Washington states have legalised the sale of cannabis in shops, and Dr Kevin Sebett – who’s a former drugs advisor to the Obama administration - is warning the Irish Government not to follow their example.
