There appears to have been little progress in the first week of renewed talks aimed at restoring power sharing in the North.

An Irish Language Act and legacy issues remain major sticking points for politicians at Stormont.

The Ulster Unionists and SDLP gave a bleak assessment of the progress when they addressed the media earlier.
