The Cabinet is expected to decide on a location for a second Special Criminal Court next week.

A Government Order back in 2004 paved the way for an extra court and yesterday it was brought into existence by the appointment of seven judges to its bench.

The justice Minister hopes the new new court will help ease a two year backlog of cases - currently the earliest available date before the Special Criminal court is June 2017.
