Schools in Los Angeles have closed their doors to hundreds of thousands of students, after receiving an 'unspecified' threat this morning.

Close to 1,000 have been shut while checks are carried out.

The recent shooting in San Bernardino is said to have influenced the decision, but officials say it's only a precautionary measure.
