Michael Lowry has defended his actions in passing a note to the Taoiseach recommending his former adviser to a State Board, saying she wasn't bad looking.
The Tipperary TD said in hindsight the note was unnecessary, but that he considered it a reference.
The issue raises questions about the appointments to State Boards - which the coalition says it's reformed significantly.
