A leading member of a Loyalist paramilitary group has been shot dead in North Belfast.
He was shot in the Sunningdale Gardens area of the city at around 10 to ten last night. Politicians have condemned the murder. First minister Arlene Foster has appealed for anyone with information to go to the PSNI
Shocked and disgusted to hear of a murder in nth Belfast tonight. I urge everyone to work with the police as they investigate.

The man is thought to be a prominent member of the outlawed Ulster Defence Association.
Deputy First Minister has also condemned the attack.
There can be no justification for the murder of a well known Loyalist in N.Belfast tonight. This was shameful & I unreservedly condemn it.

Sky's David Blevins says the killing has prompted fears of a feud between two Loyalist terror groups.
