President Emmanuel Macron's office has confirmed reports that the French leader spent €26,000 on makeup during his first three months in power.
It is said the cost reflects bills from a freelance makeup artist following him during TV appearances and trips abroad.

The current president is not the first French leader to raise eyebrows with a large bill for personal grooming - it was reported last year that his predecessor Francois Hollande's personal hairdresser was on contract for almost €10,000 a month.
Mr Macron defeated far-right candidate Marine Le Pen in the French presidential election in May.
His En Marche! political party later managed to secure a comfortable majority in June's parliamentary elections.
However, polls show the 39-year-old president's popularity plunging in recent weeks, with some polls showing his approval rating down more than 20 points since his first days in office.
