A woman has been critically injured after her car was hit by two trucks on the M50 in Dublin.

The motorway is closed southbound at junction 7 Lucan after the crash that happened around 5 o'clock this morning.

Emergency services are at the scene and the crash is blocking all three lanes.

Gardai say the road will remain closed for some time, and anyone already on the M50 is being diverted off at the Lucan road.

The woman has been taken to Tallaght Hospital.
