Major Traffic Restrictions in Dublin for Centenary Celebrations

Major traffic restrictions are in place in Dublin today and tomorrow to facilitate the centenary celebrations.

Restrictions today are due to be in place until 8pm and extend from the Grand Canal on the southside, to Dorset Street Upper on the northside.

Traffic will not be able to drive around St. Stephen's Green and other major routes such as Clanbrassil St, Patrick St and Dame St on the southside and Parnell St, Capel St and Bolton St on the northside will be closed.

O’Connell Street will remain closed until Monday evening to accommodate the 1916 centenary commemorations.

Motorists should following Garda instructions regarding diversions at all times.

Anyone intending to attend today's events should use public transport where possible but is also reminded that a Luas strike is underway.
