A teenager has died in a workplace accident in Co Cork.

Gardai say it happened in a factory at Duniskey in Lissarda shortly before 11am.

Local reports suggest the 19 year old may have been hit by a falling steel girder.

His body has been taken to Cork University Hospital for a post mortem.

Gardai and the Health and Safety Authority have launched separate investigations.
