A man has been arrested in connection with the attempted abduction of a child in Co Laois yesterday morning.
The incident happened at Cullahill in Portlaoise at around 11 am yesterday.
A man in a stolen jeep, registration number 04 KK 2649, was seen acting suspiciously in the area before the incident.
A man was detained in Co Kilkenny this morning - he's being taken to Portlaoise Garda Station.
Gardai also found the stolen jeep - and say no further action is needed.
