Gardaí now say they're treating the death of a woman at a flat in Cork City this morning as murder.
39-year-old Nicola Collins was found with serious injuries when emergency services were called to a flat on Popham's Road in Farranree at around 3.30 am.
Gardai have arrested a 42-year-old man for questioning.
It is understood that the woman was found with serious injuries in an upstairs bedroom in the apartment and she was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
A full technical exam has been taking place and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses.
