A man has been arrested after a missing English teenager was found safe and well in County Laois.

Gardai say 15 year old Neta Anghel had been missing from her home in Rotherham in South Yorkshire since Wednesday.

A man in late 20's, has been arrested in connection with the investigation into Neta's disappearance.

He's due to appear before a special sitting of Portlaoise District Court at 2 o'clock this afternoon.

Detective Inspector with the South Yorkshire Police Mark Monteiro has paid tribute to the Irish public for their help in finding the teenager.
