A man is due to appear in court in Galway this morning after he was arrested in connection with a homicide investigation in the UK.

40 year old David Ellis is wanted by Welsh police, who are expected to seek his extradition.

He's wanted for questioning in the UK about the murder of his landlord, 59 year old retired telecoms engineer Alec Warburton who went missing from his home in the town of Sketty on July 31st.

Mr Willis was seen boarding a ferry from Birkenhead to Belfast on August 5th.

He was detained in Galway yesterday evening and is due before a special sitting of the District Court there this morning.
