A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving following a fatal crash in West Dublin.
Two women were seriously injured when they were hit by a car while walking on Hartstown Road in the early hours of this morning.
Both of the women, aged in their 40s, were taken to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown.
One of the women was later pronounced dead, while the other woman remains in a serious condition.
Three people who were in the car were uninjured.
The driver of the car, a man in his 20s, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink driving and was taken to Blanchardstown Garda Station.
The man was later charged at the station and released to appear before a sitting of Blanchardstown District Court later this month.
