A man has been charged after an attempted child abduction in Monaghan. The 34-year-old year appeared before a special sitting of Cavan District Court last night.
On Saturday evening an Opel Zaifira car was stolen from outside a business premises in Clones. A ten year old child was in the vehicle at the time.
The child was found unharmed a short time later, and Gardai recovered the vehicle and arrested a man in connection with the incident in Cavan town sometime later.
The man charged will be back in court this Friday.
