A 42 year old man has been charged in connection with a fatal assault Naas in Co. Kildare on Friday night.

A 20 year old man received serious head injuries when a fight broke out amongst a group of youths and a man at Harbour View in Naas at around 10:20pm.

He was taken to hospital but died shortly afterwards.

The man appeared before a special sitting of Naas District Court at 5pm this evening where he was remanded in custody.
