A man's due in court charged in connection with the death of Sonia Blount in Dublin over the weekend.

The body of the 31 year old  was found in the Plaza Hotel on Sunday afternoon by cleaning staff in a hotel room at about 3.30pm on Sunday.

It's understood she had been strangled.

On Sunday night a 31 year old man went to Store Street Garda Station in the city centre about her death, and was subsequently arrested.

He's due to appear before a sitting of  Tallaght District Court later this morning.
