A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of his mother in South Dublin on Tuesday night.
30 year old Fionn Braidwood was accused of killing Jane Braidwood at Clarinda Park East in Dun Laoghaire.
He replied “no” when charged at Dun Laoghaire Garda Station at 6 o’clock yesterday evening.
He was remanded in custody to Cloverhill District Court next Thursday where a bail application will be made.
He was also granted free legal aid.
His solicitor, Ronnie Lynam, asked that a psychiatric assessment be carried out on his fitness to stand trial and on general medical grounds.
