A man has been stabbed, while attending a bonfire in Dublin.

The victim is receiving treatment at James Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown where his condition is described as critical.

The attack happened at Drumheath in Blanchardstown at about 7.30 this evening.

The scene has been sealed off, for a technical examination and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 01 6667000.

No arrests have been made at this stage.
