Gardai in Dublin are investigating a serious stabbing incident in the north inner city last night.
The incident happened at a quarter to 11 near the Five Lamps.
The 45 year old victim was rushed to the Mater hospital where his condition is described as critical.
No arrests have been made, and investigations are continuing.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses.
