Gardai are appealing for witnesses to a hit and run in which a man was critically injured in Dublin last night.
The man in his 20's was hit by a white Renault Megane van at Hazelwood Drive in Coolock at around 9:45 last night.
The van driver did not stop at the scene.
The man in his 20's was out jogging when he was hit by this white Renault van believed to be an older model possibly from 2003. The man received medical attention at the scene at Hazelwood Drive, Kilmore in Coolock before being transferred to Beaumont Hospital.
The road was closed for a time to facilitate Garda Forensic Collision Investigators but has since reopened.
A short time after the accident a vehicle was discovered burnt out at Beechlawn Grove in Coolock close to Parnell's GAA Club. This van has now been seized for a technical exam.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information, particularly those who may have seen a white Renault Megane van in the Coolock area just before or even after the hit and run. In particular they are looking for people who saw anything in the Hazelwood and Beechlawn areas between 9 O'clock and half past 10 last night to contact them
