A man has died and six people have been injured in three vehicle collision in just outside Headford, Co Galway
The 20 year old man died when the car he was driving collided with a jeep and another car at Cordarragh at around 2pm.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body removed to Galway University Hospital.
Gardai say the woman driving the jeep, is in a serious condition.
A child travelling with her, as well as four people from the other car are being treated for injuries described as not-life threatening.
The road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
Gardai are appealing to witnesses to the crash to contact them at Tuam Garda station or to contact the Garda Confidential Line.
