A man has died after being electrocuted while cutting hedges in Athea in County Limerick.

Two separate investigations are underway by Gardai and the Health and Safety Authority.

It's understood the man was cutting a hedge when he clipped some power lines and was electrocuted. 

Emergency services and Gardai from Abbeyfeale attended the scene.

The area has been preserved for a technical examination.
