Gardaí say it would appear this morning’s attacks in Louth were random and unprovoked.
They have confirmed one line of inquiry is that it was a terror attack.
A 24-year-old Japanese man was stabbed to death on Avenue Road in Dundalk.
Another man was also stabbed at Coes Road, while a third man was hit with a pole at Seatown Place.

An 18-year-old Egyptian has been arrested, and is being held at Dundalk Garda Station.
Gardai are unsure how long the suspect has been in Ireland.
He had been stopped in Dundalk earlier this week and was asked about his status in the country.
