A man in his early 30s has died following a stabbing in Co. Clare.
Gardai discovered him seriously injured after an altercation with another man at Gordon Drive in Ennis at around 3pm today.
He died from his injuries a short time later.
His body has been taken to the Mortuary in University Hospital Limerick where a post mortem will take place tomorrow.
A man in his late 30s has since been arrested and is being held at Ennis Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Gardai are following a definite line of inquiry into the attack.
However they are appealing to anyone who was in the Cloughleigh Estate/Gordon Drive area of Ennis this afternoon between 2.30pm and 3.30pm and who may have information, to contact them.
