Gardai are investigating a house fire in Co. Wicklow, in which a 55 year old man died.

The fire at Old Court Avenue is being treated as suspicious.

Gardai in Bray are appealing for witnesses.

Gardai say the blaze broke out shortly before 4.30 this morning.

A 55-year-old man was taken from from the house at Oldcourt Avenue - and was given CPR - however he was pronounced dead at the scene. A man in his 20s - who was also in the house - was not injured.

The scene is sealed off for a technical examination - and the victim's body remains at the house.

The office of the State Pathologist has also been notified.

Gardaí will now turn to working out the cause of the fire - they're appealing to anyone who may have seen any suspicious behaviour in the area before 4.30 this morning to come forward.
