A man in his 60s has died in an industrial accident on a farm in the Virginia area of Co Cavan this afternoon.

The 69 year old man, believed to be from the Killinkere area, was fatally injured whilst working on the roof of a shed at a farm in the Cormaddyduff area in Virginia when it's understood he fell.

It happened at around 1.15pm this afternoon.

The HSA have been notified and two separate investigations are underway - by them and the Gardaí.
