The Health and Safety Authority is investigating after a man died in a workplace accident in Laois this morning.

The man in his 50s was carrying out building works on a shed on the Ballymorris Road in Portarlington.

He fell from a height of over two metres at around 10am today.

HSA inspectors are examining the scene.
