A man in his 50s has died in a crash in Co Limerick.

He was the driver of a car that collided with second vehicle on the border with Kerry at Coole West at around 9.30 last night.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the second car was uninjured.

Gardaí are investigating the cause of the crash.

The road at the scene remains closed to facilitate a forensic examination.
