A man has died following a crash between a lorry and a van on the M1 in Co Louth.
It's understood the lorry collided with a van that had broken down and was parked in the hard shoulder near Monasterboice - just north of Drogheda.
Gardai, the fire service and the ambulance service are at the scene.
The southbound lane of the motorway is to remain closed for a number of hours and diversions are in place.
Northbound traffic is not affected.
Meanwhile - two people have been taken to hospital following a collision in Cork.
The two vehicle crash happened at Kilumney near Ballincollig at about 2.30 this afternoon.
The two people are said to have suffered non life threatening injuries.
Gardaí in Ballincollig are investigating the incident.
