A man in his 40s has been killed in a car crash near Newcastlewest in Co Limerick.
He died when the car he was driving crashed into another car at Reens Pike at ten to 7 this morning.
The driver of the second car was taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses
Its the second fatality on the roads in 24 hours after an 18 year old man was killed in a single car crash on the M7 at Roscrea Co Tipperary last night.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene at around 9 o'clock last night while two women and a another man who were also traveling in the car were taken to Portlaoise hospital for treatment - they have since been released.
