A 22 year old man has been killed after the car he was driving crashed near Ashford in Co Wicklow last night.

The single vehicle crash happened at Milltown Lane at around 10 to 12 last night.

A 26 year old man who was a passenger in the car was treated at Loughlinstown Hospital for minor injuries.

The road is closed to allow a Garda forensic exam take place and diversions are in place.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses.
