A 42 year old man has appeared in court in Donegal charged with the murder of his parents.
Julian Cuddihy of Churchtown, Carndonagh, appeared at a special sitting of Ballyshannon District Court on Friday night.
Detective Garda Bernard Mullins told the court that he arrested Mr Cuddihy and charged him with two counts of murder at Buncrana garda station on Thursday night.
To the first count he replied “I have no response” and to the second count he added “I’m not signing that.”
Judge Kevin Kilrane recommended that Julian Cuddihy be psychiatricly assessed.
The remains of 77 year old Jimmy and 73 year old Kathleen Cuddihy were found at their home in Carndonagh shortly after 9 O' Clock on Thursday morning.
Julian Cuddihy was granted free legal aid, and he's been remanded in custody to appear in court again next Wednesday.
