A 28 year old man has been sentenced to life after being found guilty of murdering a homeless man who died inside a rubbish chute at an apartment complex in Cork.
David O'Loughlin of Garden City Apartments, North Main Street had pleaded not guilty to murdering Liam Manley, who he'd invited back to his flat for a drink in May 2013.
He'd admitted pushing Liam Manley into the waste chute but he believed he would fall onto soft rubbish before getting up and walking away.
The Central Criminal Court - sitting in Cork - heard that Mr. Manley died from asphyxia after being dumped into the chute.
